We all suffer from fatigue and exhaustion throughout our lives, which is an expected feeling after doing certain activities during the day, such as working long hours, exercising, cleaning the house, taking care of the baby … etc. This lack of energy can be related to fibromyalgia symptoms which range from mild fatigue to exhaustion that drains your energy. Fatigue is incredibly common. 1 in 5 people feel tired most of the time, and 1 in 10 experiences persistent fatigue. It is more common among women than among men.

1-Physical: Fatigue can arise from a wide range of physical ailments  Such as:

-Diabetes.

-Lung diseases (asthma and chronic obstructive airway disease).

-Addison’s disease.

– Intestinal problems (celiac disease.

-Frequent awakening at night due to problems such as a hyperactive -bladder or enlargement of the prostate.

-Obstructive sleep apnea.

-Pregnancy.

-Chronic fatigue syndrome.

-Side effects of certain medications (cholesterol-lowering drugs and certain antidepressants).

2- psychological: Mental fatigue is more common than physical fatigue caused and its major causes are:

– Anxiety and depression

-Eating disorders in particular if you are underweight or overweight.

-Overthinking

-Boredom.

-Domestic Violence.

3- Lifestyle: Poor lifestyles can cause tiredness, including:

-Drinking too much alcohol.

-Eating unhealthy or unbalanced food.

-Taking recreational drugs.

-Overexertion or not fully exercising.

-Night shifts, which may result in poor sleep.

There is no specific therapy for tiredness. The key is to try to reduce the cause and do something about it.

-If the cause is a health issue, treatment often resolves fatigue. For example, if you suffer from anemia, iron supplements may cure this disease. If it is proven that you have a subactive thyroid gland, the thyroid hormone replacement pill is generally very effective.

-If you have chronic fatigue syndrome, you may be referred to a specialist for help through psychotherapy or progressive exercise therapy.

-If you suffer from anxiety or depression, it can be helped with speech-language pathology or cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT).

Prevention 


– Work on organizing and controlling your time well.

– take breaks during work, as continuous work leads to exhaustion of the body’s abilities and lack of endurance.

– Adopt a healthy lifestyle :

rest sufficiently and sleep well. 

Proper daily intake of water and bodily fluids.

-follow a wholesome diet full of fresh fruits and vegetables.

Exercise regularly: Physical exercises like walking, swimming, or cycling can be remarkably effective in the treatment of fatigue.

Conclusion

Complaints of tiredness, fatigue, or lack of energy can be just as important as those associated with organic disease. you may feel less energetic than usual, you may feel exhausted, mentally, physically, and that’s a normal part of life. But if it persists, it may suggest a medical problem.
